Bringing the Ocean to Life: Saipan Green Heroes Day 3 Wraps Up Marine Art and Builds Climate Knowledge
The ocean came alive today in our Saipan Green Heroes classroom! Day 3 was all about completing our recycled marine animals, displaying them proudly, and deepening our understanding of climate change through an engaging quiz session.
After days of hard work and creativity, the students put the finishing touches on their marine animal art made entirely from recycled materials—bottle caps became sea turtles, cans turned into glittering fish, and plastic wrappers transformed into floating jellyfish. Today, we brought all of those pieces together to build a collaborative ocean-themed display board.
Finishing Touches and a Sea of Creativity
There was excitement in the air as students gathered around the board to hang up their creations. Set against a large, ocean-blue background, the colorful marine animals truly stood out, each one unique and full of character. As they added their artwork to the display, the students shared the stories behind their pieces—why they chose certain animals, what materials they used, and how they envisioned a cleaner, healthier ocean.
It was more than just decoration—it was a visual reminder of how something as simple as a bottle cap or soda can could be turned into something meaningful. Through this collaborative effort, the students not only showcased their creativity but also demonstrated how recycling can raise awareness and drive positive change.
Learning Through Play: Climate Quiz Time
After the art was complete, we shifted gears to a short but fun and informative presentation on climate change. We reviewed key points from earlier sessions—what causes climate change, how it affects the planet, and what we can do to help. Then came the interactive quiz!
Students eagerly raised their hands and answered questions together, showing just how much they had absorbed over the past few days. From naming greenhouse gases to suggesting ways to reduce carbon footprints, their answers were thoughtful and enthusiastic. The quiz encouraged teamwork, boosted their confidence, and reinforced the importance of staying informed.

Looking Ahead
Day 3 was the perfect blend of creativity, collaboration, and education. The ocean board now proudly stands as a symbol of the students’ dedication and the powerful message that even young people can take meaningful action to care for the Earth.
At Saipan Green Heroes, we’re not just teaching about the environment—we’re building a generation that cares, creates, and leads. We’re excited to continue this journey and explore even more ways to make learning about sustainability both fun and impactful.
Stay with us as we dive deeper into environmental action—one day, one project, one young hero at a time!
